Kwai Tsing District Council Welcome to the Homepage of the Kwai Tsing District Council (K&TDC). Since the establishment of District Councils, K&TDC has become an important bridge in communication between the people of Kwai Tsing and the Government. With the announcement of the Chief Executive in his Policy Address in 2005/06 to enhance the roles and functions of District Councils in district administration, the District Councils have been playing a more and more important role. Following the commencement of the third term of K&TDC in 2008, we are committed to making new contribution in the next four-year tenure on the basis of the experience gained over the years. There are six committees under K&TDC to address different areas of district matters, namely the Traffic and Transport Committee, the Housing Affairs Committee, the Community Affairs Committee, the District Facilities Management Committee, the Recreation and Culture Committee and the Administration and Publicity Committee. In order to improve the living environment of the Kwai Tsing District and build an even better community to live in, members of K&TDC will advise the Government on matters affecting the well-being and livelihood of the residents, on the provision of social facilities and public services, and on the view of the public through regular meetings of K&TDC and its Committees. Looking forward to the future, the K&TDC will continue to keep a close eye on the building and development of the District and work towards the target of improving the livelihood of the people.
