The North District Council "Meet-the-Public Scheme"
The North District Council "Meet-the-Public Scheme" is aimed at providing an easy means for residents to see the North District Council members. Over the years, the Scheme has proven to be one of the most effective channels of communication between the general public and the Government. Through this communication link, members of the North District Council can understand better the problems and aspirations of the local people and reflect them to the Government for necessary action with a view to improving people's quality of life.
You can make use of this effective and direct channel to discuss with the North District Council members, face-to-face, any subjects that are affecting you, your family and your district. These may include such matters as housing, environmental improvement, traffic and transport, building management, education, food and environmental hygiene, etc. Your views and suggestions are most welcome and will be fully recorded for follow-up action. At the same time, you can also make use of the opportunity to get to know your District Council members and to understand more about their work.
Through the "Meet-the-Public Scheme", you can talk to the North District Council members and discuss with them freely on any local issues. District Council members will take note of your points and explain to you possible solutions. You will receive an immediate answer if it is a straightforward enquiry. If it is more complicated, you will probably get the reply later as the matter may have to be referred to the relevant Government departments or organisations for advice. In some cases, further investigations are necessary and follow-up action will be taken by the North District Office. You will be informed, usually by letter, of the course of action to be taken as soon as possible.
