Southern District Council
As an important consultative channel for the Government,
the Southern District Council (SDC) regularly discusses issues
affecting the district and territory, and when necessary, holds
special meetings or sets up ad hoc groups to address particular
matters. SDC often invites governmental departments to attend district council meetings to explain
their
policies, to provide information for discussion, and to listen
to members' opinions on various issues.

At present, SDC is composed of 21 members, including 17 elected members and 4 appointed members. Their tenure of office is four years from 1.1.2008 to 31.12.2011. The member lists of the 4 Committees under SDC are as follows:
