Duty Roster for District Council Members

The objectives of implementing the "Meet-the-Public" Scheme by Tai Po District Council (TPDC) are :

  1. to allow TPDC Members to have a direct understanding of the problems of local residents so as to strengthen communication with residents; and
  2. to enable TPDC Members to have a clearer picture of local residents' problems.

 

TPDC "Meet-the-Public" Scheme is implemented as follows :

Residents who make the appointments through TPDC Secretariat will be arranged to meet with TPDC Members at a mutually convenient time.

  1. The time of meeting will normally fall within office hours from Monday to Friday.
  2. Executive Officers of TPDC Secretariat will assist TPDC Members to record the case, refer the case to relevant organisations/government departments for follow-up action and to inform residents of the outcome at an appropriate time.
  3. All appointments will be recorded in a register and depending on the situation, a separate case file will be opened for each case.
  4. TPDC Members will meet with members of the public according to the duty roster prepared by TPDC Secretariat so that each member will have equal chance to meet with members of the public and to offer them assistance.
  5. TPDC Secretariat will inform Home Affairs Department on a regular basis cases handled which are categorised according to the nature of each request/complaint.
