Festive Lantern Decoration in Central & Western District
- 3 September to 20 September 2016 (First Stage (Mid-Autumn Festival))
- Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, Belcher Bay Park, Hollywood Road Park
- In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival, the Central & Western District Council and Central & Western District Office are displaying giant paper lanterns in Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, Belcher Bay Park and Hollywood Road Park to liven up the festive ambiance and promote the traditional craftsmanship of paper lanterns.

Visit to Local Elderly Service Units 2016

- The Central and Western District Council members are invited to visit the elderly service units in the Central and Western district to listen to the elders' opinions and to strengthen the linkage between the local elderly service units and the District Council.

Central and Western District Kids' Paradise in Celebration of National Day

- A large scaled carnival for families, especially children and parents. It includes parent-child reading workshops, creative arts workshops for kids, variety shows, marching band performance and more than 20 game booths under the theme of "environmental protection" to promote parent-child learning experience and celebrate the National Day.

The Central & Western District Health Festival 2016-2017
- 5 & 6 November 2016

- The Central & Western District Health Festival 2016-2017, organised by the Steering Committee on Healthy City in Central & Western District, was held on 5 & 6 November 2016. This year, the theme of the event is "Family Vitality, Healthy City". Free on-site body checks were provided to the residents during the event, including eye test, foot & knee check, back check, blood glucose and cholesterol test, free consultation session by Chinese Medicine Practitioners, etc. In addition, through health talks, exercise demonstration & game booths in the venue, the message of healthy living was further promoted.

2016/2017 Fall/winter Sheung Wan Promenade

- Sheung Wan Cultural Square at junction of Morrison Street and Wing Lok Street
- "Sheung Wan Promenade” is a major annual event in the district since December 2001. The event, featuring cultural and variety performances, thematic carnivals as well as stalls selling a variety of hand-made arts and crafts, has been well received by locals and tourists alike. It is a great boost to promote the features and economy of the local community and has succeeded in attracting more people to visit Sheung Wan district.

Outdoor Educational Programme 2016

- Outdoor Educational Programme 2016 organised by the Working Group on Central & Western District Council Affairs was held on 2,5,7 & 12 December 2016, in which Primary 2 students from 11 schools in the District participated. The Programme aims to provide a learning experience which develops students' knowledge on natural resources and increases their awareness on environmental protection.

Playful Families in the Central and Western District - 2016 Countdown for the New Year

- The Viewing Platform No. 1 at the Central & Western District Promenade – Central Section
- Hong Kong Chiu Sheung School, Hong Kong Rope Skipping Federation, China, famous dancer Mr. Andy Wong and his dance company ‘Dancing Angel’ were invited to perform on the show. It was also the first time for The Hong Kong Children's Musical Theatre to have the musical ‘A Big Melon's Tour of Hong Kong’ at outdoor.
  The countdown ceremony was hosted by famous artist Miss Amy Ng with performances by Miss Elisa Chan. Public could enjoy a variety of performances, witness the countdown and the new year fireworks at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
