Western Wholesale Food Market Flea Market cum Carnival 2018

- To complement the implementation of the Signature Project Scheme in Central and Western District, the Working Group on the Central & Western District Harbourfront under the Central and Western District Council organised the Western Wholesale Food Market Flea Market cum Carnival 2018 on 3 and 4 February 2018 to let the public participate directly in the revitalisation project and enjoy the beautiful harbourfront. More than 30 stalls in the Western Wholesale Food Market, other traders and non-governmental organisations participated in this two-day event with a total of 65 booths being set up to sell vegetables, fruits, seafood, egg products and other specialty products. Variety shows were also presented, including calligraphy and painting performance, meat-cutting performance, cooking demonstration by Towngas, milk tea brewing demonstration by the milk-tea master, etc. In addition, a bouncy castle was also set up for children to share the joy.

Visit to Local Elderly Service Units 2018

- Elderly Service Units in the Central and Western District
- The Central and Western District Council members are invited to visit the elderly service units in the Central and Western district to listen to the elders' opinions and to strengthen the linkage between the local elderly service units and the District Council.

“Central and Western District Kids' Paradise” in Celebration of the 69th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China

- The “Central and Western District Kids' Paradise” in Celebration of the 69th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China was jointly organised by the Central and Western District Council, Central and Western District Office and National Day Celebration Committee of the Central and Western Districts, and co-organised by over 20 local organisations. The carnival included creative arts workshop for kids, parent-child reading workshops, youth busking, game booths, handicraft booths and variety shows. As the event drew in diverse audiences, it helped foster solidarity within the community.

Central and Western District Community Planting Day 2018

- The Working Group on Environmental Improvement, Greening and Beautification Works in C&W District of Central and Western District Council, Central and Western District Office and Leisure and Cultural Services Department co-organized the event ‘Central and Western District Community Planting Day 2018’. All participants gained joyful planting experience and knowledge about planting techniques.

Outdoor Educational Programme 2018

- Outdoor Educational Programme 2018 organised by the Working Group on Central & Western District Council Affairs was held on 10 - 14 December 2018, in which Primary 2 students from 12 schools in the District participated. Through meeting animals such as sea lions, penguins and pandas, as well as having lessons and activities, the programme aims to develop students' knowledge on natural resources and increase their awareness on environmental protection.

Jamming Classic Hits@New Year's Eve Countdown in Central & Western District 2018

- The Viewing Platform No. 1 at the Central & Western District Promenade – Central Section
- The event featured a variety of performances by singers and students, interactive games with prizes, as well as a live jam session with elite athletes Miss Wong Hiu Ying (Gymnastics) and Mr Lee Ka Wai (Karatedo). Just before the countdown, famous artist Johnson Lee came on stage and brought the event to a climax. Amid a joyous atmosphere, participants enjoyed the spectacular fireworks display and welcomed the New Year together.
