Invitation for Proposals on the Signature Project Scheme

Sai Kung District Council (SKDC) is now inviting eligible organizations to submit proposals for joint implementation of the Tseung Kwan O History and Heritage Information Centre under the Signature Project Scheme (SPS).

SKDC plans to establish the Tseung Kwan O History and Heritage Information Centre (“HIC”) under the SPS. The proposed HIC will focus on the modern history of Tseung Kwan O. Examples include the story behind the name of Tiu Keng Leng, the history of the Tiu Keng Leng squatter area, life in the Tiu Keng Leng villages in the mid to late 20th Century, and the development of the new town Tseung Kwan O, etc.
SKDC is now inviting eligible non-profit organizations (NPO) to become its partner in implementing the HIC and to arrange a range of related public engagement activities. The selected NPO will undertake the management and operation of the HIC, organize activities and provide the relevant services in the HIC and the Tseung Kwan O Heritage Hiking Trail on a non-profit and self-financing basis. The proposed HIC will be located at 160 Po Lam Road South, Tseung Kwan O, comprising the location of the ex-Tiu Keng Leng Police Station (i.e. Rennie’s Mill Police Station) and two ex-staff quarters. |

Interested organizations can click here to download the Application Guide (Chinese version only). Any interested parties who need an English translation of the Application Guide are welcome to approach the SKDC Secretariat who will endeavour to provide one.
The Guide contains information on eligibility criteria, submission of proposal, assessment criteria, etc. Applicants should follow the requirements set out in the Guide to fill in the proposal’s summary table and to submit their detailed proposals together with relevant documents to SKDC Secretariat (Address: 4/F, Sai Kung Tseung Kwan O Government Complex, 38 Pui Shing Road, Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O, New Territories) by 6:00 p.m. on 10 September 2014. Please mark on the envelope “Proposal for Tseung Kwan O History and Heritage Information Centre”. |

The Secretariat of the SKDC will hold a briefing for interested applicants. It is tentatively scheduled for 19 August 2014 afternoon. Please fill in and return the Reply Slip (Chinese version only) by 4 August 2014 to register. |
