District Council Standing Orders

According to Section 68(1) of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap. 547), the Chairman of a District Council (‘DC’) may make standing orders for regulating the procedure of the DC and its committees.

According to Order 4 of the DC Standing Orders (‘Standing Orders’), if a DC member or member of a committee disputes any of the Standing Orders, the interpretation of the DC Chairman shall prevail.  The decision of the DC Chairman on a point of order shall be final.
