Signature Project Scheme(Yau Tsim Mong District)
Background
To enhance district administration, the Government has launched the Signature Project Scheme (SPS), under which a one-off allocation of $100 million is earmarked for each district to support District Councils in implementing SPS projects according to district needs.
For more background information about the SPS, please visit the SPS website of the Home Affairs Department (HAD) or refer to the paper "implementation of Signature Project Scheme" issued by the HAD.
The Yau Tsim Mong District Council decided to establish Yau Tsim Mong Multicultural Activity Centre at Battery Street Sitting-out Area as the signature project scheme with a view to “promoting multiculturalism and advancing social cohesion”. Two rounds of public consultations were conducted in the second and fourth quarters of 2013 to tailor the Signature Project Scheme(Yau Tsim Mong) to local needs.
